Originally from Miami, guitar slinger/song singer Roy Bloomfield spent several years in the Northern California music scene before moving to Boulder, Colorado in 1979, and finally Vail ten years later. Along the way he’'s played with the likes of Bo Diddley, Sam Moore, Gretchen Peters, Edwin McCain, and Subdudes members John Magnie and Steve Amade. More commonly known for his lead guitar work with numerous bands around the state, Roy also jams on acoustic guitar in a variety of duo configurations. Other musical ventures include fronting his own band “The Bar Nuns” (since 1996), lead guitarist for
The Instant Cash Band,
full time solo entertainer, session guitarist, album producer and studio owner.
Roy performs regularly at private parties and events, but can more conveniently be heard performing solo at the Vail Marriott Resort. You might also consider catching him wailing on lead guitar next to Phil Long at the Red Lion in Vail.
